1969 Vespa 50 R (V5A1T)

The Vespa 50R (Rinnovata) was a revised version of the base model Vespa 50 N introduced in 1969. Initially equipped with solid 9” wheels, these would be replaced in 1971 with the split aluminium 9” 4 hole wheels. Its gearbox remained a 3-speed throught production. Designed for Italian 14 year olds to ride with no licence or registration, it had a top speed of 40km/h, a single seat, and no speedometer.

Until 1970, no badge or lettering was mounted on the rear. Thereafter it had only an "R" sticker, and later models had the same letter but as an aluminium plaque.

In 1975 it gained a hook on the saddle, and the block lettering.
