1963 Vespa 90 (V9A1T) — The first smallframe
Launched in 1963 alongside the 50n, the Vespa 90 was initially sold in one colour - sky blue, with a blue single seat, and differed from the 50n in several ways. The most obvious was its engine, which was 90cc and gave it a top speed of 70km/h. It also had an optional dual seat and 10 inch wheels.
The lettering on the legshield was dark blue, and the legshields themselves had aluminium edge trim. The electrical system was upgraded to provide a brake light and a high-beam headlight. The front wheel had a dual action hydraulic damper.
In later years the 90cc engine would be enlarged to 100cc for the Vespa 100.
